WayneAmerica.com is proud to announce our Student of the Week for this week -- Sam Bruckner, a senior at Wayne High School.
Sam is the son of Brian and Traci Bruckner, and was nominated by his teacher, Tracy Anderson
Bruckner was selected by the Nebraska School Activities Association as one of 12 high school students who will sing the National Anthem at one of the organization's 12 championship events during the 2017-18 school year. According to the NSAA, the deciding factor was his strong voice's ability to encompass the Kearney Country Club Golf Course, a very difficult outdoor venue, made all the more challenging with the strong winds encountered last Friday. He was among nine Wayne High students and more than 200 from across the state who auditioned for the opportunity. He is also involved in many activities, including choir, band, football, speech, mock trial, musical, and One-Act.
Sam receives a gift certificate from the Wayne Dairy Queen, who is sponsoring the WayneAmerica.com Student of the Week award.
Teachers in the Wayne Community Schools system at St. Mary's are welcome to nominate students each week. A winner is chosen by the WayneAmerica.com staff from the entries received, and the winner will be recognized on WayneAmerica.com and receive a special treat from the Wayne Dairy Queen.
Congratulations to Sam Bruckner, our WayneAmerica.com Student of the Week.
