Speech team performs well at Boone Central

The Wayne High speech team came away with several good performances from the Boone Central Invitational on Saturday.

Each Wayne participant in the Novice division came away with a medal, leading Wayne to the team title. Medalists for Wayne were as follows:

Duet Acting — Juan Hernandez and Christopher Archer, sixth.
Entertainment — Walker Hochstein, fifth; Annika Wachter, sixth.
Extemporaneous — Christopher Woerdemann, first; Isaac Davis, second; Ruben Vega, fifth.
Humorous Prose — Liam Spieker, first; Dylan Anderson, third.
Persuasive — Brock Hopkins, second.
Oral Interpretation of Drama — Isaac Davis, Christopher Woerdemann, Walker Hochstein and Liam Spieker, second.

The varsity speech team finished fourth overall. The varsity team’s medalists include:

Humorous Prose — Jack Osnes, first; Sarah Wibben, fourth.
Informative — Halie Chinn, fifth.
Poetry — Grace Heithold, fourth; Megan Keiser, fifth.
Duet Acting — Jaci Torres and Sarah Wibben, fourth.
Persuasive — Miranda Fehringer, third.
Extemporaneous — Colton Spahr, second.
