The Wayne Green Team invites the community to participate in the annual fall electronics recycling event Saturday, Sept. 23 on the north side of Third Street between Lincoln and Pearl streets, next to the Wayne City Hall parking lot.
The event runs from 8-11 a.m., or until the truck fills up, so be sure to come early. Bring your old TVs, computers, cell phones, printers, cords and more. (Sorry, no large appliances, batteries or VHS tapes accepted.) Visit the Wayne Green Team’s FAQ at www.cityofwayne.org/greenteam for a complete list of acceptable items.
Requested donation of $10 per carload or $50 per business load of reasonable size, and fees for CRTs (tube) of $5 per monitor and $10 per TV (no charge for flatscreens). There is also a $10 fee per microwave.
This block of Third Street will be closed to traffic. Enter from Lincoln Street to unload your electronics and exit onto Pearl Street.
Funding comes from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality Waste Reduction & Recycling Incentive Grant, with electronic recycling services by Nebraska Recycles out of Lincoln. Volunteer support comes from the Wayne State College men’s basketball team.
Help keep harmful substances out of landfills and bring your electronics to be recycled.
See the Wayne Green Team’s website for more details at www.cityofwayne.org/greenteam and stay connected with them on Facebook.
